βEvery athlete an experiment of oneβ. One of my favourite things impressed upon me by Bill Sweetenham.

Over the last 20 years, training has become insanely individualized. Instead of writing and coaching 1 practice, you are writing and coaching multiple for every session.
3x British Olympic coach Kevin Renshaw - another coach influenced by the legend, Bill Sweetenham.
Speaking of Bill Sweetenham, did you see this?

When I coached club swimming, my boss was a Vietnam Vet - Marine Force Recon - and the recipient of 2x Purple Hearts.
He spoke about discipline every day to his age group swimmers (and his coaching staff). It's the #1 thing he instilled in them (and us).
Nothing trumps self-discipline.

Hard to believe this book was published 28 years ago. Anything you would add or remove to Sam Freasβs 10 essentials to sprinters? @SirHerb_the3rd

Coach Mike White of Madison Aquatics Club - and UW - tweeted Dr. Sam Freas' 10 Essentials of Sprinting. This is so good we turned it into a video.
I like how #2 is so important that he also made it #3. π€£
Kyle Chalmers and David Popovici might have something to say about #6.
Coach Herbie Behm of Arizona State believes Dr. Freas is suggesting a kick amplitude that is too large.
@CoachMikeWhite1 Never higher than the highest point of the hips. Bringing the heels too high will cause the hips to sink requiring an even larger kick to stay in line.
