Prelims Day 1
Women's 2 Fly
Not a bombastic way to begin Trials.
Hali Flickinger is going to win this from start to finish tonight. Who will take second?
Lindsay Looney looked excellent at the 100 but just couldn't hold the pace. Maybe Olympic silver medalist Regan Smith was just going easy this morning...

Men's 200 Fly
Luca Urlando was out fast (54.1) but was way out in front. He pulled back the throttle on the final 50 meters and cruised home in 32.0 barely kicking out on his final turn.
Zach Harting & Chase Kalisz swam stroke for stroke in the middle of the pool warming up for tonight's festivities.
Trenton Julian with an absolute crush of the final heat. Nic Albiero looks sick - head down after that swim. Came home with no juice, something that is very unlike him. Not as slow as NCAA Champ Brendan Burns whose last 50 was 35.0. Ouch!
I think Luca & TJ go 1-2 tonight while flirting with the 1:54 barrier.

Women's 100 Free
Only one girl under 54. 🤮
Natalie Hinds looked the best of the bunch posting a 53.7 with a proper gliding finish. She's long and strong and beautiful to watch. I think she goes 53.4 and wins tonight.
Looked like to me that Abbey Weitzeil was gettin' eaten up underwater on that turn.
UVA's Kate Douglass sneaks in 8th. Gretchen Walsh with a 55.5. Hard to believe these are the same swimmers that just put up the fastest SCY times in history and put on an absolute show at NCAA's.

Men's 100 Free
Ryan Held looked crisp and controlled. Drew Kibler continues to impress. Bowe Becker put up a stinker.
The 6 foot 6 crew, Kieran Smith & Hunter Armstrong, put up the morning's fastest 2nd 50's.
Caeleb Dressel the only man sub 23 to their feet.
Justin Ress sneaks in 8th for a chance to make the relay.
